This book is the most comprehensive book with color photos I have found. We frequent the Bahamas, and everything you see in this book you can also see in the islands. The author's don't forget a thing. Worth every penny!

Summary: "Great for biologists and beachcombers alike!"

I've been a proud owner of Dawn and Blair Witherington's book since it was published years ago. I can't recommend this book enough. Florida's Living Beaches is an ideal beachcomber's companion. Not only does this book list the typical shorebirds or seashells, but it also contains the weird and strange, such as sea beans, or buoys, or random plastics that you might find. The book gives information about almost every species found on Florida's beaches whether you are walking in the Panhandle or the Keys, you'll be able to locate it. The text is descriptive, but far from dry and boring. I recommend Florida's Living Beaches for anyone who has ever walked on a Florida beach, and wondered "What's that?". Wonder no more.
